Trump doesn't foresee Oprah presidential run, but predicts he would beat her

Gayle King says Oprah Winfrey will need some convincing before she up and makes a presidential bid.

"Oprah would be great as president of the Screen Actors Guild - I think that would work for her", the veteran political commentator and the son of Ronald Reagan told host Miranda Khan on Tuesday's "America Talks Live". He then shared his opinion that he didn't think Winfrey would run but that she "would be a lot of fun".

The president added that he appeared on one of the media mogul's final shows and knows her "very well". But there is one potentially serious problem to her candidacy that the unexpected launch of the Oprah movement revealed. It was very nice...

Oprah was capitulated into the political spotlight Sunday as she accepted a lifetime achievement honor at the Golden Globe Awards and made an impassioned speech about female empowerment in the wake of rampant sexual abuse against women in Hollywood and the nation. "If she decides to run, she will get someone who is every qualified to be her running mate - and it ain't me", she quips.

Some media commentators have injected scepticism into the surge of excitement among fans of the former talk show star, saying the Democratic Party and the country might well reject the notion of another celebrity political novice following Mr Trump's 2016 election.

Winfrey fueled speculation that she could look to mount a campaign in a rousing, almost 10-minute speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

The inspiring message left many of Winfrey's fans pondering whether she'll run for office in 2020. "If it means looking at one of these celebrities that have a moral core, that are compassion and intelligent, I think that people should look to where they can during these very, very hard times".

Police described the slain militant, Farheen Wani, as a hardcore stone-pelter, wanted in many cases of unlawful activities. Soon after the news about the encounter spread, the people mostly youth took to streets and pelted stones on forces .

"She loves this country and would like to be of service in some way, but I don't think that she's actively considering it", King told her co-anchors. I do think that. Nonetheless, the spectacle of an entertainment industry condemning Trump while having enabled sexual predators for decades is an albatross that Winfrey will have to shed if she is to make the leap from theoretical front-runner to a candidate who can actually win the presidency. "At the same time, politics is ridiculous right now".

"You just have to convince her", she continues. He praised her again in 2015, calling Winfrey a friend.

"There will be no running for office of any kind for me", Winfrey said on CBS This Morning back in October of 2017, flanked by her friend King.

Oprah Winfrey for President?

King, who was at the Golden Globes when Winfrey gave her speech, described being in the room as "electrifying".

On the show Tuesday morning, King said she "was up talking to [Winfrey] very late last night".
