White Cadbury Creme Egg debacle gets worse

How can you get your hands on a winning Creme Egg? .

We may as well be living in the world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory considering how mad everyone's gone for Cadbury's white Creme Eggs.

The news of the huge trifle comes just one day after Cadbury revealed their white chocolate version of their beloved Creme Egg - which could win you £2,000 if you are lucky enough to find one.

How far would you go to get a real life version of Willy Wonka's golden ticket?

But there's a catch: you can't knowingly buy the white eggs, you have to find them.

The prized white eggs are on sale in branches of Tesco, Sainsbury's, Co-op and a selection of newsagents across the country.

There are also 65 white eggs worth €100 each on the shelves.

With 371 eggs released into the wild, people have already taken to Twitter at their disgust at the levels people are stooping to nab themselves the rare treat. Upon finding a white chocolate egg, lucky winners will be able to call a Cadbury hotline to claim a cash prize.

The traditional confection consists of a milk chocolate shell around a creamy orange and white filling that resembles a raw egg white with a yolk. Anyone who's ever worked in a shop (or anyone who's ever braved a self-service till, for that matter) will know the complete and utter nightmare that is scanning a Creme Egg.

Manufacturers have confirmed there's an extremely easy way to identify the white eggs, which are only available in UK.

The eggs could be hidden inside single wrapped eggs, which have an RRP of 58p, or in five packs which cost £2.85. And there's even one very special grand prize egg worth 2,000 pounds, which is over $2,700!
