Chargers Return to London in 2018

This will be the first time the Eagles have played in London since the series began in 2007.

Now we do. Speaking at a press conference at Lilywhite House next to the stadium construction site, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, London mayor Sadiq Khan, Martin Glenn, and National Football League chief Mark Waller announced that the first National Football League game will be held at the new stadium on Sunday, October 14, 2018 and will feature the Oakland Raiders vs. the Seattle Seahawks.

It isn't much of a surprise that the Eagles will be in London next season.

As frustrating as this may be for some Eagles fans since there's always been an argument about how unfair it can be for teams having to travel that far when a majority of the league doesn't have to, there are at least a few positives about the whole situation for Doug Pederson's squad.

The three-game London slate offers worldwide fans a bevy of enticing matchups.

Mark Waller, NFL executive vice-president of events and worldwide, said: "We are very excited about playing our first game at Tottenham's magnificent new stadium, and will follow our usual pattern of playing one game in our first season at a new venue, as we did at Wembley and Twickenham in previous years".

"It's been 10 years since we last played in London, and other than the outcome of the game, the experience there among the global fans was pretty cool", Rivers said in the team's statement.

"We continue to be very excited by the growth of the NFL in the United Kingdom", said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The first game of the series sees a marquee matchup between the Raiders and Seahawks on October 14 at the new Spurs stadium.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: "London is the global home of the NFL and I am really excited to welcome the world's best American football stars and their thousands of fans from around the globe back to our city". "By playing games on three consecutive weeks, we will learn a lot, both from the fans buying tickets and attending games, and from a logistics and organizational standpoint".
