Barcelona announces signing Yerry Mina

Having already secured the signatures of two South American stars - Brazilian magician Philippe Coutinho and Colombian talent Yerry Mina - Barcelona are set to add another high-rated prospect from this continent. He continued in this position following his move to Independiente de Santa Fe, where he established himself as one of South America's most promising players in the position before securing a move to Palmeiras in 2016. He also scored nine goals in 49 matches for Palmeiras.

The easy-going defender celebrates his goals with dance moves that often go viral online.

However, Mina has joined early, signing a five-and-a-half year deal with a release clause of €100 million (£88.5 million), with hopes he can settle quickly in La Liga.

Mina arrives to provide competition for Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen in defence.

Dion Waiters will undergo season-ending surgery on left ankle
The Heat have won six straight games and moved into fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 24-17 record. Considering he'll undergo surgery to correct the issue, it seems doubtful he was recovering as hoped.

Mina was a key part for Palmeiras when it won the Brazilian league in 2016 and was runner-up previous year. Mina's transfer included a transaction fee of $14.2 million.

Mina will be the first Colombian to play for Barcelona and Faustino Asprilla tweeted a graphic of the signing. He missed part of last season because of a serious foot injury with Palmeiras.

Barcelona are nine points clear at the top of La Liga and are still in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
