Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze coming to the Switch

You can read our full review of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for the Wii U for more details about the game.

Donkey Kong will be swinging his way onto Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle for Switch in a future DLC update, Nintendo announced today.

Tropical Freeze, the side-scrolling platformer developed by Retro Studios, originally arrived on Wii U back in 2014. Later, Nintendo released Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS, which featured additional characters from portable characters like Spirit Tracks and A Link Between Worlds. Playing as Funky Kong lowers the difficultly of the game allowing players to double jump, hover, infinite rolls, and infinite underwater corkscrews.

Non-Chinese users whose iCloud accounts are registered in mainland China but who aren't living in the country have another option. Other major technology companies, including Amazon and Microsoft, have also made similar deals to run data centers in China.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is out on May 4th. We don't have an official release date for Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition just yet, though Nintendo says that it'll be available this spring.

You'll also have the option to play alongside friends with the Tropical Freeze co-op mode, which worked pretty well on the Wii U. We'll have more information for you when it's available, but in the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for more ports of classic Donkey Kong and Zelda games.
