ISRO achieves flawless launch of PSLV-C40 with Cartosat-2, 30 others

ISRO prepared for the PSLV comeback launch today. The Cartosat-2 has been created to stay in its orbit for five years.

The co-passengers on Friday's launch include Telesat's second prototype broadband communications satellite, following on the loss of the Canadian company's first experimental high-speed Internet craft on a failed Soyuz/Fregat rocket launch in late November.

# The four stage PSLV-C40 stands 44.4 metres tall and weighs about 320 tonne at the lift off stage. The Cartosat-2 has been created to stay in its orbit for five years.
