The visit will include New Delhi, Gujarat and Mumbai. Ties between the two countries have flourished in numerous realms in recent years. India has a long and wide ranging defence cooperation with Israel.

Official engagements begin on Monday: a guard of honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan, wreath-laying at Rajghat, and meetings with President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu.

In July previous year, Modi visited Israel as the first Indian Prime Minister since the establishment of bilateral ties in 1992. "The visit will focus on the progress made between India and Israel since Prime Minister Modi's visit to Israel last summer, and on shaping the next 25 years of relations between our countries and our peoples".
