Amazon's Alexa Coming to Select Toyota, Lexus Models This Year

The fusions of two globally recognized brands in the world are looking to collaborate to bring us another technological advancement in the automobile world and market.

"LG has always been committed to developing TVs that combine innovative technologies with the widest range of convenient, user-friendly interfaces and adding Amazon Alexa is consistent with this strategy", said Tim Alessi, Senior Director, Product Marketing for home entertainment at LG Electronics USA.

The feature will be available in all Toyota and Lexus cars that have the Toyota Entune 3.0 App Suite and Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0 in 2018.

The addition of Amazon Alexa on Acer, Asus, and HP computers poses a major challenge to Microsoft's own Cortana, which the company has integrated into its Windows operating system.

Toyota's Entune 3.0 system gets an upgrade to include a version of Alexa. "This feature will allow Toyota and Lexus customers in the United States to interact with Alexa in the vehicle".

The letter cited various studies that have found negative effects of smartphones and social media on children's mental and physical health.

Last week, LG announced that its 2018 lineup of OLED and Super UHD TVs will include its ThinQ AI platform, combining Google Assistant and deep learning to provide voice controls for the device. This includes; Panasonic, Byton (electric auto manufacturer) and Garmin.

"Having the Vuzix Blade AR Smart Sunglasses Alexa-Enabled, will allow you to not only see the digital world, but also communicate with the digital world hands free, no matter where you are", said Alex Kelly, Director of Innovation & Strategic Partnerships, Vuzix.

These companies will allow Alexa into their vehicles or integrating the voice service into the connectivity systems that link customers' cars and mobile phones.

"People tell us they love Alexa in the home", said John Scumniotales, the head of product for Amazon Alexa.

Drivers of some new Toyota vehicles will soon be able to have conversations with their cars, or at least ask them politely to do certain things.
