Bannon exits Breitbart News

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon is out of far-right website Breitbart, after an explosive on the president was released.

SirusXM Radio cut ties with former Breitbart executive chairman Steve Bannon after he was forced out of Breitbart News Tuesday.

After all, pushing out Bannon - whom Trump said had "lost his mind" - looked like an attempt to preserve the site's cozy relationship with the president.

When the White House made it clear last week it was time to pick sides between Mr Trump and Mr Bannon, the choice for most conservatives was clear.

But he appears to have become increasingly isolated amid reports that he had lost the support of a major financial backer.

Their public fight ended an alliance that began when Bannon joined the Trump campaign and helped the political novice defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. This is a direct reference to Bannon's time in the U.S. Navy where he served as a special assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations working on budget issues after two relatively unremarkable non-combat deployments at sea. Others say he encouraged Breitbart to engage in nativism and racism.

Wolff's book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, characterised Trump as mentally unstable, inept and unprepared for the presidency.

Steve Bannon is out at Breitbart after a controversial book caused a rift between him and the White House, and Donna Brazile isn't going to let that pass without comment.

"Bannon's departure from Breitbart came as a shock to some of his allies". The author of the book, Michael Wolff, disputed Bannon's account.

He said a 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort and a Russian lawyer was "treasonous", according to an account in "Fire and Fury".

On Monday, Bannon tried to back-pedal from his comments.

CBS News had previously reported the board of Breitbart News Network LLC was considering pushing out Bannon.

To no one's surprise, President Trump did not take kindly to the betrayal. He criticised administration policies and, in an even greater transgression, took aim at Donald Trump's own family in sharply personal terms.

"These are from people who just have not accepted the fact that President Trump is the United States president and I'm sorry for them in that", Pompeo, who gives Trump his regular intelligence briefings, said on "Fox News Sunday".
