Bungie pledges huge lists of Destiny 2 improvements, will rein in Eververse

In a development update concerning Destiny 2, one of the game's directors, Christopher Barrett, opened the lines of communication with fans to provide a forecast of what would be coming in the next year for the game. Improvements are also coming for Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, end game player pursuits, additional vault space, and changes to Heroic Strikes.

"We recognize that the scales are tipped too far towards Tess at the moment, and Eververse was never meant to be a substitute for end game content and rewards", writes game director Christopher Barrett.

Items such as Ghosts, ships and sparrows, as well as emotes, colour shaders and weapon ornaments are available through Eververse.

The second is that they'll be creating a gameplay path to earn Bright Engrams and their rewards, which includes Event Engrams.

The blog post ends by letting players know that they will continue to be listened to and spoken to via as many different channels as possible: "Expect to hear more from us via Bungie.net, Twitch, and social media".

January 30 will see the new Master Armor system roll out, which augments your Super abilities with reduced damage intake. Masterworks are a category of item that has better stats with the base-level item. Additionally, the Raid vendor will now sell Leviathan and Eater of Worlds armor and weapons. "The scoring is similar to the Destiny 1 system but with adjustments to emphasize competitive execution of Strike objectives and support for player selectable score modifiers".

Independent of Expansion 2, the team will deliver a number of new features that will be released before or during Season 3. The situation was only made worse by a seasonal holiday event, called "The Dawning", last month that introduced a whole trove of new items you could only earn through Eververse, all of it tied to randomized loot boxes. We've only scratched the surface of what's in store. Now, in a new blog post, Bungie has been talking about how the future will look, both short-term and looking further ahead, and while there are some things that look promising, fans fear that it is too little too late.

This update will also make Raid rewards "more unique and interesting".

Strike Scoring is coming to Nightfall and replacing the current time limit mechanic. This will focus on reducing redundant mods, more unique theming, and greatly increasing their impact on your power. This will favor activity rewards over Bright Engrams.

Earning experience will also receive some tweaks because Bungie admits that right now it's unfair and feels like an endless grind. Lastly, this update will include PC Tower Chat, quickplay improvements, the appearance of Fireteam members on the destination map.

Multi-Emote: When multi-emote launches, you will be able to choose which emote you have equipped to each of your four emote slots.
