Khabib Nurmagomedov to fight Tony Ferguson then possibly Conor McGregor in Russian Federation?

First-ever UFC show in Russian Federation booked for September in Moscow The first-ever UFC show in Russian Federation is set to happen as early as September, as the event has already been scheduled in one of the biggest arenas in Moscow, RT Sport has learned from the venue. Coming off of his giant win over Edson Barboza, Nurmagomedov is on a roll.

Ferguson's status as the interim champion would in most cases make him the obvious pick for a shot at McGregor's undisputed strap but with the lines between logic and insanity becoming increasingly blurred, who knows how this heated love triangle will play out.

"We will fight in April first with Tony Ferguson, and then we will receive a date for a fight with McGregor", said Nurmagomedov to RT Sport.

"Most likely, this event is going to be connected with us", Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov told RT.com.

For all the intrigue and discussion that has surrounded each of the UFC's current weight classes, perhaps none carry the level of attention that has been fixated on lightweight in recent times.

A little over 24 hours after seeing Nurmagomedov end his long hiatus from the Octagon, McGregor took aim at "The Eagle", saying: "That Dagestani was dog s**t the other night you's are all nuts". Although the timetable would lay out perfectly if Nurmagomedov could get past the ever-dangerous Tony Ferguson. "Well, let's see, let him go himself now". He has threatened to strip McGregor of his belt for inactivity and making the Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov fight for the unified belt. "We have many good fighters who can fill the arena".
