Paige Reportedly 'Done' as in-Ring WWE Performer Due to Injury

Paige's recent injury caused many to speculate her condition for the upcoming Women's Royal Rumble, but the latest news suggests that the Raw Superstar is done as an in-ring performer for WWE.

The situation was described as one similar to WWE Hall of Famer Edge and his medical disqualification from the ring.

The Anti-Diva recently announced her entry into the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble at the January 28 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but her status likely means WWE will be forced to find a replacement. It's believed that she will transition to a non-physical role for the company going forward. Now, after a freak injury at a house show two weeks ago, it looks like she will no longer be wrestle...at least for WWE. Paige, who is only 25, was hoping to have 2018 be her comeback year after missing seventeen months following a neck injury suffered in June of 2016 that led to neck surgery and then another injury suffered late last year.

Instead, it's reportedly the end of Paige's in-ring career. And it's also worth noting she was involved in a controversial relationship with former WWE star, Alberto Del Rio. When Paige came up to the main-roster and defeated AJ Lee for the Divas Championship in 2014, it seemed she had a bright future in the WWE. She would hold the Divas championship twice. The belief now is that she is finished as an in-ring wrestler.

WWE have yet to release an official statement. The company will obviously utilize Paige to promote the film, which based on a British documentary made about Paige's family, The Knights, who have been wrestling and promoting the World Association of Wrestling (WAW) promotion in Great Britain for years.

The importance of her connection to the film alone should allow Paige to continue to be showcased in some fashion until the film hits theaters.
