Trump thinks Oprah won't run, says he'd defeat her anyway

The emotional and barnstorming speech set off fevered speculation online that this could be construed as her first campaign speech. Faced with the presidential buzz surrounding Oprah Winfrey, President Donald Trump is steering clear of nasty nicknames and colorful insults, though he's making clear who would win a celebrity showdown.

American voters are big fans of Oprah Winfrey --but asked 10 months ago, most didn't want her to run for President.

Almost seven in 10 voters overall, including a majority of Democratic voters, said in the survey they didn't want Winfrey to run. "I like Oprah. I don't think she's going to run", Trump said. When she ramped the energy and emotion even higher with her "new day is on the horizon" proclamation, I no longer had any doubt that I was hearing political oratory of a very high order. She had me and my family.

However, this was not enough to dampen the excitement of the people.

CNN later quoted two unidentified friends of Winfrey as saying that for several months she has been "actively thinking" about running. Her longtime partner suggested that she could be persuaded. "She would absolutely do it". "I don't think she had any intention (of declaring)".

"She lived, as we all have lived, too many years in a culture broken by the brutally powerful men", she said. "She's even got a new age movie coming out to brainwash the children". It would require almost three years of grinding hard work - and in the end she might win, which would mean four more years of oppressive labor and crushing responsibility.

India Considers Israeli Spike Missiles Deal Through G-to-G Route
Now, it is learnt that the government is considering buying the missiles through government-to-government route. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Israel last July in the first such trip by a holder of his office.

A March 2017 poll by Quinnipiac University gave Winfrey a 52% favourable rating compared to Trump's then 41% job approval rating.

Trump's kind words for Oprah are not new.

The 64-year-old media mogul has become a cultural phenomenon.

After college, she went into journalism before reigning for 25 years as queen of the U.S. talk show, ushering in an era of confessional television before becoming the first black woman to own a television network.

The tweet came after host Seth Meyers made a joke in his monologue about a run by Winfrey.

Becoming the first black woman to accept the Cecil B. De Mille lifetime achievement award, her speech wove together gender, poverty and race. "They threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone". He said, "There may be an equation here where the only thing that can beat a celebrity is another celebrity".
