Yemen's Houthis say they fired ballistic missile at Saudi

The Saudi-led coalition joined the Yemeni government in its fight against the Huthis in March 2015, after the rebels seized control of the capital Sanaa.

Spokesman of the coalition forces in support of legitimacy in Yemen, Colonel Turki Saleh Al Maliki said that 16 air, sea and land relief outlets in Yemen are open to worldwide organisations and donor countries to receive aid and enter the Yemeni territories.

Yemen lies beside the southern mouth of the Red Sea, one of the most important trade routes in the world for oil tankers, which pass near Yemen's shores while heading from the Middle East through the Suez Canal to Europe.

The report said the panel saw "no evidence" that either side took measures "to mitigate the devastating impact" of attacks on civilians.

While SABA gave no details on how Houthis could carry out any such move, the Bab al-Mandab strait, where the Red Sea meets the Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Sea, is only 20 km (12 mile) wide, making hundreds of ships potentially an easy target.

Revelers around the globe ring in 2018 amid heightened security
Sydney was one of the first to welcome in the new year, with celebrations around the world coming within hours. Another tradition going hand-in-hand with the ball dropping is the New Year's kiss.

Saudi-led coalition air strikes on a marketplace and house in rebel-held northern Yemen have left at least 14 people dead, witnesses and a rebel-run news agency said Thursday.

The rebels, known as Houthis, and forces allied to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh swept into the capital, Sanaa, in 2014.

Saudi Arabia and the United States have long accused Iran of arming the Houthis in Yemen, the Arab world's most impoverished country.

More than 10,000 civilians have been killed in fighting and airstrikes; more than 7 million are on the brink of starvation and over 19 million don't know where their next meal is coming from; medical infrastructure has collapsed; and a cholera outbreak has affected 1 million people.
