Officer Jay Williams was in the middle of a traffic stop when police say Wilson fired his weapon from inside his vehicle. Officers say Wilson is being treated for injuries he received after jumping out of one of the building's windows. KPD reported that Officer Jay Williams, a 14-year veteran of the police force, tried to pull over Wilson on a speeding violation.

A Tennessee police officer was shot on Thursday night and the suspect wanted for his attempted murder is on the run. KPD Chief Rausch said Wilson used a shotgun.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added Wilson to its most wanted list and is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch said Wilson fired multiple rounds at Williams with a shotgun as the officer pursed him by vehicle.
