CES 2018, An Event All About Consumer Electronics, Hit By Major Blackout

The Las Vegas Convention Center, where CES is taking place, is now experiencing what event organizers are calling an "isolated power outage".

The lights went out at around 11:13AM PST after over an inch of rain fell in Las Vegas, causing flash flooding across the city.

"For two and a half hours it was a reboot", Lauren said.

While attendees were initially told to wait 15 minutes for lights to turn back on, thousands of guests were evacuated from the hall when the electricity failed to return.

A power outage left parts of CES in the dark.

At the same time, against Norwich we played 3-4-3 with Pedro, Willian and [Michy] Batshuayi, but we didn't score. But what surprised and infuriated fans more is one decision of Antonio Conte in particular.

Some companies still managed to do demos on their charged laptops and other devices, while others, such as Samsung, had limited backup power.

"A preliminary assessment indicates that condensation from heavy rainfall caused a flashover on one of the facility's transformers", the CTA's statement reads. Some poked fun at the ironic loss of power in a gadget show.

CES is the largest consumer electronics show in the world, attracting about 184,000 attendees and more than 4,000 exhibitors. Event officials said they were still investigating how the power went out. Intel, the company behind Energizer, and even Oreo joined in. "The blackout is utterly nonsensical".

Technology brands including Intel, IBM, ISPN and Texas Instruments were quick to jump onto the #CESblackout hashtag, with many taking a cheeky communications approach to the situation. Intel tweeted a photo of the darkened convention center with the caption, "Introducing Blackout: The biggest thing to hit CES 2018 since 5G".

LG Electronics used the power cut to promote its OLED TV by saying, "Even without power, #CES2018 still can't match the ideal black of an #LGOLEDTV".
