FCA Relocating Ram Heavy Duty Truck Production to US

What's more, FCA said it would pay a $2000 bonus to 60,000 hourly and salaried employees, which the company said was made possible by a huge corporate tax cut enacted late previous year.

The company also said it'll give a $2,000 bonus to 60,000 of its USA employees.

The new plant will add an additional 2,500 new jobs to the state economy, while Mexican workers will still continue to produce other Fiat Chrysler models at its Mexico factory, according to The Sun Herald.

Shares of Fiat Chrysler rose 1.4% to $23.75 in after-hours trading.

The investment is a continuation of a plan already announced by the automaker, which shuffled SUV and crossover production between Ohio, Michigan, and Mexico plants.

Those investments and related actions involving production shifts at three plants in Illinois, Ohio, and MI to gain capacity for the Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Ram Light Duty truck, and the introduction of three new Jeep models at plants in Ohio and MI. The payment will be made in the second quarter of this year, and will be in addition to any profit-sharing and salaried performance bonuses that employees would otherwise be eligible to receive in 2018.

Numis Securities maintained Interserve plc (LON:IRV) rating on Monday, November 2. (NYSE:SFE) to report earnings on March, 1. Shareholders of record on Thursday, January 4th will be paid a dividend of GBX 1 ($0.01) per share on Friday, February 9th.

Thursday's announcements were made in advance of the North American International Auto Show. That investment is also expected to be completed by 2020.

"I'm just elated at this news", Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel said.

Hackel says this is "another add-on" to the roughly $10 billion automakers and suppliers have invested in Macomb County since 2010.

"This is unbelievable", Hackel said. We are basically Ram county now. Bringing production stateside will ultimately create 2,500 new jobs in the USA, according to FCA.

The plant - which now makes the the Ram 1500 - has been home in the past to the Dodge Dakota, which was introduced in 1987 and ended production on August 23, 2011.

According to an FCA press release, the automaker has invested $10 billion in USA manufacturing operations since June 2009.
