Why Oprah Winfrey should not run for US president

Why Oprah Winfrey should not run for US president

"Oprah would be a lot of fun". She wasn't writing this thinking, 'I'm going to launch my presidential campaign, ' which, by the way, she's not even thinking about having a presidential campaign.

Naturally, Twitter had quite a bit to say about Trump's confident stance.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday he would beat Oprah Winfrey in a potential 2020 presidential match-up, though he doesn't think she will end up running.

"I was up talking to her very late last night", King said on CBS This Morning Tuesday. The person emphasized that Winfrey has not made up her mind about running. She later elaborated, telling People, "I was her practice audience".

As her longtime partner Stedman Graham watched from the audience, she told the story of a black woman from Alabama named Recy Taylor, who died at the age of 97 on December 28, 2017, and her fight for justice after her rape by six white men in 1944. She had read it to me for time, but it was the type of thing where she knew she had a message to deliver.

"These candidates who are coming forward today only have this popular appeal", he said.

A White House spokesman said Monday the Trump team would welcome Winfrey's candidacy, or that of anyone else.

The Raptors were whistled for 23 fouls, compared to 20 for the Warriors, but Toronto actually attempted more free throws (32-28). DeMar DeRozan is averaging 25 points and 4.2 rebounds while Kyle Lowry is averaging 16.2 points and seven assists .

But if Winfrey is smart - and she is - she will wonder whether the message she tried to convey will get lost in all the political chatter.

"I want to say that I value the press more than ever before as we try to navigate these complicated times".

In an Instagram post by Erica Campbell, who is one of of the Gospel singing Mary Mary duo, shared her thoughts on Winfrey's Golden Globes speech, stating that Winfrey has successfully motivated and inspired her.

Winfrey, Cillizza pointed out, represents the "new and unique", and her cultural influence justifies the "massive amount of attention" she's received in the wake of the Golden Globes. Good for her for focusing on that.

"Which brings me to this: What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have". "I think it is something that Oprah would have to feel and sense for herself".

King, who attended the awards ceremony alongside Winfrey and Graham, said being in the room was 'electrifying'.
