GoDaddy to Sponsor Last Two Races

GoDaddy to Sponsor Last Two Races

GoDaddy will return to be Danica Patrick's sponsor for the Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500, the company announced Thursday. She's the only woman to have led laps at both the Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500, a feat achieved by only 13 other drivers in the history of the sport. Once she and Go Daddy parted ways after the 2015 season, her mid-pack finishes became much less attractive when sponsorship was harder to secure.

"This is definitely the way I want to finish my racing career - at these two iconic races, backed by my iconic, long-time sponsor", said Patrick. "I gained like 4 or 5 pounds and it was just hormones and after a month or six weeks, I was like, 'They said I'd go back to normal after a few weeks, ' and it didn't - so I made a decision to change my program", she said. Patrick will retire from racing this year.

Patrick said in late 2017, she reached out to GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons to share her final race plans, igniting the reunion.

"We're getting the band back together", GoDaddy chief marketing officer Barb Rechterman said in a statement. "But GoDaddy to me has been instrumental in my brand and awareness and so it seems so fitting, so appropriate to be back in green for these last two races of my career".

Sharapova into Australian Open 3rd round
Watch for all three to take the court on Day 4 at the Australian Open . "It was really meaningful for me to be out here". The Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza fell out of the tournament after being beaten, 7-6 (1), 6-4, by Hsieh Su-wei.

"There's this great story", Patrick told the Associated Press. Known for years as a website domain hosting company, GoDaddy now touts itself as "the world's largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures", and there's no better spokeswoman than Patrick, who is well into the next chapter of her life and her brand. "She's passionate, tenacious and creative just like so many of our customers who are also looking to leverage the power of the internet and turn their "side hustle" into a full-time business". Patrick will star in new TV commercials for GoDaddy as well.

The GoDaddy of today is quite a bit different from the company that sponsored Patrick. Danica absolutely epitomizes the heart of our GoDaddy customers.

The Daytona piece isn't so complicated, even though the race is next month.
