Millennial Pink Kit Kats Are Here

Millennial Pink Kit Kats Are Here

Nestle struck a deal with Zurich-based chocolatier Barry Callebaut, the developer of ruby chocolate who has worked with major chocolate producers like Hershey Co. and Cadbury.

"Japan is the market that has made KitKat so iconic in terms of all the different flavors they've developed", Nestlé's global head of confectionery, Sandra Martinez, said in an interview. Ruby chocolate was unveiled in September by Swiss chocolatier Barry Callebaut.

The Sublime Ruby KitKat employes the new Ruby chocolate that offers a taste to the palate that differs from the traditional bitter, milk, and white chocolate.

From tomorrow (19 January), the KitKat Chocolatory Sublime Ruby bar will go on sale in Japan and South Korea through Nestle's KitKat Chocolatory stores and online.

Despite its colour - some call it a convenient shade of Millennial pink - and berry-fruit taste, the Ruby chocolate contains no artificial colour or flavouring, and is produced through a unique processing that unlocks the flavour and colour tone naturally present in the Ruby cacao bean.

"Because we know that our consumer is always looking for new news".

The Jan. 19 roll-out is right on cue for Valentine's Day. However, there are a bunch of more appetizing flavors we would love to try.

Units of the Sublime Ruby KitKat will retail at 400 yen and will be available in limited number from January 19 - 25, 2018. Now, they're out to conquer the worldwide market with a stunning new release that will go on sale in Japan on 19 January, and this one is so special they've made a decision to release it in other countries later this year. A "Sublime Valentine's Assort" box, including the Sublime Ruby, will go on sale from February 1, 2018.
