Tom Holland's Spider-Man Could Face Off Against Tom Hardy's 'Venom'

But we heard repeatedly, especially out of the Spider-Man: Homecoming junket, that the new Spider-Man played by Tom Holland exists in a separate universe than Venom and all the other Spidey spinoffs Sony has in the works. "All I'm saying is that Spider-Man--and I'm talking about Tom Holland's Spider-Man--is going to be in Venom", said Schnepp.

It was reported this week that Tom Holland would be appearing as Spider-Man in the upcoming independent Venom movie. "When I say Tom Holland's Spider-Man is in the film, I'm saying Peter Parker is in the film". So now you're saddling your future Spider-Man movies with Venom stuff even though Feige and Co. aren't involved with the making of those Venom movies.

A couple of days ago saw it rumored that Spider-Man will be appearing in the upcoming Tom Hardy Venom movie.

Jon Schnepp reports the Tom Holland story in the above Collider Heroes episode at 1:47-2:16. Fans wondered how you could have Venom without Spider-Man, who is kind of the progenitor of the character in the comics.

Suspend Internet to curb terrorism, says Army chief
The standoff was resolved after Chinese troops stopped road building and India withdrew its troops from the area. However, General Rawat said Indian forces will face the PLA troops if they come again in Doklam.

Of course, without any word on this from the studio, we'd advise taking what Schnepp says with a grain of salt.

If Tom Holland is in the film, it will likely be as more of a "surprise" cameo and he probably won't have any contributions to the overall plot of the film. Still, it quickly became unclear whether Holland's Spidey would be included in these films or this universe.

Before, the idea was that while Spider-Man would remain a part of the MCU, movies like Venom would be kept in their own separate universe.

Still, this is just a rumor as of now. But if these do turn out to be more than just rumors, then it seems that the MCU just got a bit bigger. Recently, the first official Venom image was released, featuring Hardy as Brock rather than the symbiote. Venom, directed by Ruben Fleischer is scheduled to hit the theaters on October 5th, 2018.
