Trump is in 'excellent' health: White House physician

"I can reliably say, and the folks in the mental health community would back me up on that, that if he had some type of mental cognitive issue that this test is sensitive enough to pick up on that", Jackson said.

Jackson said although it would be "great" if Trump slept more, "I don't think that's likely to happen". Test takers are asked to identify animals, and draw a clock face, putting in all of the numbers and setting the clock hands to a specific time, as well. It is not a psychological exam.

I've seen the photos that appear to indicate he's hardly two inches taller than President Barack Obama, whom Jackson measured at 6-foot-1. The test, created in 1996 by neurologist Ziad Nasreddine in Montreal, isn't a psychiatric exam, Dr. Jackson acknowledged, and it isn't meant to screen for mental health issues beyond cognitive troubles.

He says it has now been used in 200 countries, in 60 languages, and has been deployed in one developing country to demonstrate its leader was no longer fit to govern. His thyroid was normal, and there were no issues with his teeth or gums.

Other than an appendectomy when he was 11, Trump has had no major surgery.

"It's called genetics", the White House doctor replied.

"That's just the way God made him", Dr Jackson said.

But the 71-year-old president performed "exceedingly well" on the test, Jackson said, receiving a ideal score.

Further, it provides engineering consulting and placement services, as well as quality and regulatory consulting services. Neuberger Berman Group LLC boosted its holdings in Advanced Micro Devices by 0.4% during the 2nd quarter. (NASDAQ: AMD ).

However, the doctor did note that Trump took Ambien - as did most everybody else on his team - when traveling between time zones. His mother died at 88 and his father lived to 93, though he suffered from Alzheimer's disease for about five years.

Dr. Jackson said multiple times during the almost hour-long meeting with reporters that he had had no intention of administering the test, but that Trump requested the exam.

Dr Jackson said Trump scored 30 out of 30 on the test, adding: "The president is mentally very sharp, very intact".

Undergoing a physical is voluntary, and Trump can pick and choose what the public learns about his health. On Tuesday, the White House announced Trump's score: 30 for 30.

Jackson said such testing wasn't originally in the plan for the physical, and isn't recommended by doctors for patients of Trump's age. She read a letter written by Richard Tubb, a former physician to the president who trained Jackson and vouched for his integrity. Like after the nuclear apocalypse, Trump is going to be the only one walking around, giving speeches to cockroaches. Jackson said he would increase that dose in an effort to get Trump's so-called "bad" cholesterol, or LDL level, below 120; it now is 143.

He'd prefer to lose those pounds by diet, not exercise.

He said Trump had healthy cardiac results according to a CT scan and blood tests, though he took Crestor to lower his cholesterol.

Jackson said he would consult with nutritionists and work out an exercise program for the president.
