Nebraska routs No. 23 MI, 72-52

James Palmer Jr. scored 19 points, Isaiah Roby had a career-high 14 and Nebraska beat No. 23 MI 72-52 for its first win over the Wolverines since joining the Big Ten. The first half was plagued with turnovers and despite a couple spurts of energy, UM trailed 32-21 at halftime.

Charles Matthews scored 15 with 6-for-10 shooting but received little help for MI (16-5, 5-3 Big Ten), which was playing its third game in six days.

But that's when NU put on the clamps defensively.

"I was just very proud of the guys tonight". Nebraska started the week as one of six teams nationally with a plus-five or better improvement in the win column.

Taylor did thrive coming off the bench, compiling 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. "We don't give up. When we made our runs, you could definitely hear them out there". Even when MI is not shooting especially well, they can still find ways to score.

♦Nebraska entered the game ranked fourth in the Big Ten in 3-point field-goal percentage defense at 31.9 percent and allowed the third-fewest made 3-pointers.

Can No. 23 MI keep adding to its current winning streak when the Wolverines go on the road to face Nebraska at 9PM ET? It all came after 20 minutes of uninspired, lackadaisical play. The Wolverines have won nine of their last 10 as well.

NA condemns Imran, Sheikh Rashid's anti-parliament remarks
"By insulting the House, they have also humiliated over 200 million people of the country which is a highly condemnable act", it said.

MI shot 22.2 percent from 3-point range (4-for-18).

Matthews was the only player on Michigan's team to score in double figures. Forward Moritz Wagner, who scored a combined 45 points in the Wolverines' previous two games, was held to two points on 1-for-5 shooting.

On Mar. 5, 2017, when MI destroyed Nebraska 93-57 on Senior Day, the Wolverines had five players score in double figures and shot 63 percent as a team. "They've played with five guards at times this year and that creates a challenge, but we'll be ready for it". Thursday's result might help him forget about it. And they will be challenged of winning games in consecutive days during the Big Ten Tournament as well. "It was fun to get a win like that".

Isaiah Roby scored nine points on 4-of-4 shooting in the first half and finished with 14.

Beilein's team had trouble slowing Roby down on both ends of the floor.

One of the areas that Nebraska has excelled in this year has been taking away opponent's three-pointers. "We want to make the attempts opposing teams take tough for them". "It's going to be a nightmare for a lot of teams, because he can shoot threes as well".

Copeland is second on the team in scoring and the leading rebounder. Senior guard Anton Gill added 10. With the Big Ten suffering a down year, MI has just a handful of quality teams left to play. "I'll tell you how good you are if you can beat Maryland". "You can't be one of those unless you get there eventually, so the sooner the better".

Nebraska will hit the road on Monday night to take on Ohio State for a 7 p.m. CT tip on BTN. In Lincoln on Monday night, IL and Nebraska came down to the wire in their Big Ten matchup.
