Manchester City vs. Newcastle: Match Preview, Info & Score Prediction

City still have a 12 point lead at the top of the table so they are hardly panicking, but their egos may have been bruised after defeat to Liverpool last Sunday.

The loss to Liverpool was hard to take.

With Europe and the FA Cup to deal with, Jurgen Klopp will have to rotate his side.

Above them are Liverpool, courtesy of a superior goal difference, and below them are Tottenham, who trail their London rivals by three points.

But Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum admits they will not be title contenders until they learn how to kill off matches.

The Argentina centre-back is confident City will put that behind them and get back on track when Newcastle visit Eastlands today.

Ayoze Perez has been in fine form for Newcastle recently, scoring the victor against Stoke and a brace in the FA Cup win over Luton.

Defender Virgil van Dijk should be back in the side, which will strengthen the defence and the whole team.

The 5,000 Army personnel was led by Major General NS Rajpurohit , deputy commandant and chief instructor, ASC College and Centre. The Army said its troops managed to stop the fire from spreading to heavily populated civilian areas in the south of the city.

Newcastle have won just six times this season, and only three times away from home. I think that now I have an important role because the central defenders have to build-up with the ball and make the team work as best as we can.

After spending £75 million on Virgil Van Dijk prior to the departure of Philippe Coutinho for £106 million, it is unlikely that Liverpool will splash the cash once again this January. Newcastle have been struggling all season, and it is hard to see them putting up a good enough barrier against this high powered Cityzen offence.

Despite being promoted as champions from The Championship, Newcastle have been below par when it comes to the Premier League.

After missing out on Leon Goretzka to Bayern Munich, Riyad Mahrez and Julian Brandt are the two names that have been linked with a move to Anfield.

Goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah - buoyed on by the noisy Anfield atmosphere as well as the high press the midfield executed on City's backline - made for a dizzying 10 minutes.

City are still firm favourites to lift the title, but Jose Mourinho's team at least closed the gap by beating Stoke on Monday and United defender Phil Jones is adamant the race isn't over yet. That should change with the arrival of Virgil Van Dijk, but experienced midfielders and leaders Jordan Henderson and James Milner need to show their teammates how to conduct themselves in the closing stages. Still, his hopes of finishing the league season without a loss were dashed with the defeat.

Wenger's side head into today's clash with Crystal Palace in crisis with their star forward Sanchez preparing to join Manchester United. I say that because they can go to tough places and draw 0-0.
