Trump supports bill to avoid government shutdown; White House

House Democrats will likely home in on Bannon's willingness to criticize his former Trump campaign and White House colleagues - particularly Kushner - for taking meetings with Russian officials. By issuing a subpoena, the committee now has continuing power to compel Bannon to provide answers-or else risk a contempt of Congress action.

Mr Trump Jr later defended the meeting, saying Ms Veselnitskaya had offered only "inane nonsense" but he also said he "probably would have done things a little differently" in retrospect.

Hicks' appearance Friday was anticipated given her close ties to Trump, which predate the campaign, and the central role she has played through the election season and in the White House.

House Intel committee member Adam Schiff claimed Bannon "was instructed by the White House to refuse to answer any questions concerning the time during the transition and his time in the administration", the Hill reported.

"It doesn't belong to Bannon, it belongs to the executive, the president of the United States, and so it seems entirely reasonable for Bannon or his lawyer to be checking with the White House counsel as to the scope of executive privilege and getting advice as to what the White House will defend".

While Bannon has derided Comey's dismissal as a dumb move, his comments about the meeting between Donald Trump, Jr., and a Russian lawyer came out in a new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.

Preventative health: Cold, flu season: Nothing to 'shake off'
In California, 80 percent of flu cases are caused by a strain of influenza virus labeled H3N2, which is resistant to vaccines . Brendan Flannery, an epidemiologist with the influenza division of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .

He was quoted as calling a meeting in June 2016 between Mr Trump's son Donald Jr and a group of Russians "treasonous".

"We encourage the committees to work with us to find the appropriate accommodation in order to ensure Congress obtains all the information that they're looking for", White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said. "Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad s-, and I happen to think it's all of that, you should have called the Federal Bureau of Investigation immediately", he said, according to the book.

Bannon, who until recently headed the far-right media outlet Breitbart News, is expected to face questions about what he witnessed while serving as the Trump campaign's CEO from August 2016 through Election Day. He also said in that interview that "there's nothing to the Russian Federation investigation". It's a total and complete farce.

"I spoke with the president".

Both the Russian and USA presidents have poured scorn on suggestions of collusion, with Mr Trump calling it "the greatest political witch hunt in history". "When he was sacked, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind".
