Henrikh Mkhitaryan to have medical at Arsenal in next 48 hours

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that the club had "no chance" of meeting Alexis Sanchez's contract demands prior to his imminent move to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho reckons Manchester United's need for more competition in their attack is the main reason behind signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. It is believed that medicals will take place in the coming days.

On why Sanchez didn't feature against Palace, Wenger said: "He didn't play because you can not drive up north and play football at the same time".

That's why it takes longer", the Frenchman said, adding: "I expect it to happen. He said that the transfer was "likely", and could be confirmed in the next 48 hours. It happens only one way, if the other way happens as well.

This being said, United fans are hoping that the imminent signing of Sanchez is a statement of intent and Mourinho's latest comments might offer United supporters some optimism. "It is a possibility".

Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrived in London on Saturday night as he prepared to secure his move to The Gunners. So close, so close, so close, if it doesn't happen it's not going to happen.

People Injured In Passenger Train Crash At Sydney Station
Emergency services have responded to the scene, treating ten people for minor injuries, while two have sustained severe injuries. A planned meeting between Sydney Trains and union bosses has been pushed back to 12.30.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are making good strides to reunite Mkhitaryan with Borussia Dortmund marksman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and it is suggested that the deal has been influenced by new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, who recommended the pair first during his time at Signal Iduna Park.

"They are responsible for their own statements".

Lineker said: "We understand it's not quite over the line but it's getting pretty close". But I can not announce it. Four goals in the first 22 minutes tore Palace to shreds as Nacho Monreal, Alex Iwobi, Laurent Koscielny and Alexandre Lacazette got on the scoresheet. But the Arsenal boss admitted that the distractions surrounding Sanchez's transfer have been hard. We have had big players concerned with moving away which causes uncertainty.

Holt added: "So they're paying him so much money that he has to carry his wages to his auto in a wheelbarrow?" "The period of uncertainty was hard..." Once things are clear the team responds and focuses on the job.

Chile's Sanchez, 29, is set to become United's best-paid player, with some reports putting his salary at £400,000 ($554,000) per week, prompting a warning from former England boss Steve McClaren that his high wages could create dressing-room disharmony.
