NFC CHAMPIONS: The Philadelphia Eagles Are Headed to Super Bowl LII

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles had a spectacular showing in the win as he completed 26 of his 33 total pass attempts against a good Vikings defense for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns.

This city was devastated when Carson Wentz, the MVP-front-runner quarterback, went down on December 10 with that torn Achilles.

The Philadelphia Eagles host the Minnesota Vikings for football's NFC championship game Sunday night, and the city of brotherly love is making sure the hometown fans stay safe and grounded.

He threw the ball here, there, everywhere and with accuracy after showing mobility in the pocket. On Minnesota's next possession, pressured by defensive end Chris Long and hit across the left arm and chest, he threw an errant pass that cornerback Patrick Robinson intercepted and returned 50 yards for an Eagles touchdown that tied the score 7-7.

"I have not had time to process yet what's going on", Foles said.

"We didn't make plays to get momentum back", Thielen said. "We were just going to go out there and play and we executed at a high level".

More remarkable was the way Philadelphia carved up Minnesota's estimable defense. Philadelphia had four plays that went for 35 yards or longer. How could he explain his career turnaround? "Everyone just kept believing".

The Vikings have never been to the Super Bowl in the modern era while the Eagles have lost twice in their two appearances in 1980 and 2004. Wentz is being touted by many as the next Tom Brady and could lead Philadelphia into a similar dynasty but when he went down so did any shot at this year's Super Bowl. "When I was up on that stage [during the NFC trophy presentation] that's something that you dream about as a kid".

Sheil Kapadia: The Eagles' offensive performance won't be pretty, but Doug Pederson will find a way to scheme up a wrinkle or two to produce big plays. Offensively, the Vikings had the seventh-best running game (122.3), but their average of 3.9 ranked 23rd.

Of all the soul-crushing postseason losses the Vikings have suffered, and there have been plenty, this was the soul-crushingest of them all. He had a Pro Bowl year a couple of years ago. I've got so must respect for him.

Owner Jeffrey Lurie was also happy for Foles. "We had a lot of third-and-manageables", Reich said of the Atlanta win. "But we knew we just had to settle down and we'd be OK".

New England isn't the most talented team in the AFC (or the NFL), but it showed in the AFC championship why it's the hardest team in the National Football League to beat. We always had so much confidence in NIck. That's what I wanted to do.

WHO WE LIKE: Minnesota. Sarkisian crapped down his leg on the final four plays too, handing the Eagles a victory with his horrendous play-calling (especially on the final play, where he cut the field in half and gave Matt Ryan one option - Julio Jones, who slipped coming out of his break). Their last two trips resulted in championships with last season being the most recent one.

The Eagles were home underdogs for the second straight week.

"This has been a insane journey with everything that has gone on", he said.

"We're looking for that anomaly". I'm blessed to have awesome teammates, incredible coaches. He was the only coach who flew down to Texas and worked me out.
