Arsenal confirm swap deal with Manchester United for Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal confirm swap deal with Manchester United for Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez looks all but certain to be officially announced as a Manchester United player and Arsene Wenger was speaking about the Chilean worldwide.

Sanchez has signed a four-and-a-half year contract at Old Trafford worth reportedly around £500,000-a-week while Mkhitaryan has penned a long-term contract with Arsene Wenger's side, who will now press on with the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Alexis Sanchez arrived on Sunday at Manchester United's training headquarters to seal his move from Arsenal, sources have told ESPN FC.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ has been spotted at the immigration office in Liverpool ahead of his move to Manchester United. It's a dream come true because I've always dreamed of playing for Arsenal.

The player posted a video of himself boarding a private jet on his Instagram account, before being spotted arriving at Manchester United's Carrington training ground just a few hour later.

"I remember today, a conversation I had with Henry, a historic Arsenal player, who changed club for the same reason and today is my turn", he wrote.

Sanchez has scored 80 times for Arsenal since joining from Barcelona for £30m in July 2014, and was last season's top scorer with 30 goals in all competitions.

By sealing his move, Sanchez, 29, has become the club's best-paid player on nearly £600,000 a week - a basic wage of £350,000, £100,000 image rights and £144,000 in bonuses.

"It was very hard, we played against a courageous team, a team that plays with their strength and a team that knows how to get points".

"We know the talent", Mourinho told Sky Sports.

United struggled in the transition after Ferguson left Old Trafford following their 20th and most recent Premier League title in 2013.

However, United's financial clout saw them win the race for the Chile global, who put pen to paper on four-and-a-half-year deal at Old Trafford.

Arsenal look set to lose their star player but Wenger remains hopeful for the rest of the season as the Gunners have a lot to play for still. Tickets are expensive, the players are lightweight, and it's been an bad long time since Arsene Wenger looked like he knew how to engineer a Premier League success.

That's hard so that's why I made a decision to leave him out.
