Olympics: Snowboarding - Women's slopestyle final delayed

Sochi champion Jamie Anderson of the United States battled challenging cross winds that had delayed the start of the final to win her second successive Olympic gold in the women's snowboard slopestyle at the Pyeongchang Games on Monday.

Spencer O'Brien, originally from Alert Bay with her hometown listed as Courtenay, was one of five snowboarders on the Canadian team for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Those in the USA can watch the final starting at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday night.

However, since she's been on a roll taking home medals at the 2017 World Championships and last two X-Games. However, significant wind gusts led O'Brien to abandon her second run, after crashing on her first. This will be her 2nd Olympics after struggling a little bit in Sochi.

The 27-year-old's biggest competition will come from teammates Julia Marino, 20, and Hailey Langland, at 17, a full decade younger than Anderson.

Sochi gold medallist Jamie Anderson of the United States leads after the first round with a score of 83.00 points, nearly 10 more than Norway's Silje Norendal.

Great Britain's Katie Ormerod will not compete due to injury, as she fractured her heel in training, per BBC Sport.

Marino and Langland have the raw scoring potential to cause a shock, but ultimately, Anderson remains the favourite.
