Potter holds off big guns to win Pebble Beach title

Day's been playing excellent golf on Tour this season, as his worst finish throughout the four tournaments he's participated in was 11th, and he now sits at fourth on the FedExCup standings.

Phil Mickelson turned in the most impressive round of the day, a 6-birdie 67 in which he hit 11 of 14 fairways and finished tied for second. Get the app and get the game. "Going back to the Masters, it'll definitely be another dream come true".

American Kevin Streelman (68) finished alone in sixth and Scott Stallings (66) was seventh at 12-under 275, five shots adrift of Potter. It was a long time coming for the feisty lefty who battled his way back to the PGA Tour after suffering an injury in 2014 that caused him to miss almost two years of competition.

The win gets Potter a spot in the Masters this April, where he's made just one career appearance in 2013. But it was on the front nine that he really sizzled, playing the first seven holes in seven-under par with five birdies and an eagle. That included a birdie chip from the rough on the par-three seventh hole.

World number one Dustin Johnson, joint overnight leader with Potter, birdied the last to also finish on 14 under.

Prior to 2016, the Gaels had also previously been tops among all participating Westchester teams in 2010 and 2011. This event started with a parade, where everyone could show off their plunging costumes.

He closed with a birdie on 18 on Sunday for his fourth of the round.

"I felt like I played OK", Johnson said. The 36-year-old improves to 9-for-9 on the season with a TOUR-leading eight top 25s and posts his second top 10 and second straight after P2 last week in Scottsdale. "A few bad iron shots cost me".

Johnson is hoping to defend his title next week when the tour travels to Los Angeles for the Genesis Open at the Riviera Country Club.

"Just back from my mini-tour days, tournaments I've won in the past, just drawing back from past experience of winning golf tournaments", he said.
