The perverse fawning over brutal Kim Jong Un's sister at the Olympics

After North Korea's incessant ballistic missile tests and nuclear detonation test escalated tension on the Korean Peninsula past year, the two Koreas made a flurry of agreements on inter-Korean exchanges on the occasion of the on-going PyeongChang Olympics.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has been using the Games in his efforts to break the ice with the North and pave the way for talks over the North's weapons programme.

Regarding the invitation, the White House told Yonhap News that Washington is closely cooperating with the South in order to produce a "united response" to Pyongyang.

A group of North Korean cheerleaders were briefly wowed by the apparent, sudden arrival of their leader, Kim Jong Un, at a Winter Olympics ice hockey game on February 14.

She headed the North's delegation and has now returned home.

Her country is subject to a raft of sanctions from the United States, the UN and the European Union over its weapons programmes and Japan has said it remains sceptical about the "charm offensive".

"For our side, for the sports side, this dialogue will continue.", he said, adding that the IOC was in constant dialogue with North Korea's national Olympic committee.

South Korea said it will seek ways to continue engaging North Korea, including trying to arrange more reunions for families divided by the war and lowering military tensions. "We surely have to win competitions but I mean attending the Olympics has a significant meaning", the North's Alpine coach, Pyon Yong Do, said after a meeting of coaches on Sunday.

She's right about the South Korean's moment on the world stage being taken over by the Kim dictatorship.

Soon after the judgement, Miguna, in a telephone interview, said the Government had no authority to withdraw his citizenship. Deportee Miguna Miguna is at the centre of a fresh tussle over whether he should be allowed back into the country.

There are expectations that South Korea may resume the provision of some humanitarian aid to North Korea, although Pyongyang has shown no signs of giving up its policy of developing nuclear weapons and missiles that can reach the U.S. mainland.

Japanese officials took pains to stress there was no daylight between Japan, the US and South Korea on their approach to dealing with North Korea.

The idea of creating a unified team was initially criticized by South Korean fans who feared that North Korean players could weaken their chances at the Olympics.

"N$3 o pressure comes off until they are actually doing something that the alliance believes represents a meaningful step toward denuclearization", Pence told Rogin.

You could nearly feel the ripple of excitement as Kim Yo-jong walked into the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games.

Pence called it "maximum pressure and engagement at the same time".

According to Nam Sung-wook, a professor at Korea University's Department of Unification and Diplomacy in Seoul, the cheerleaders are a tactic to give an air of unification and normalcy in North Korea.

Upon his arrival back to D.C., Pence tweeted that the USA policy on North Korea is "unchanged".
