Samsung Galaxy S9 launch: everything you need to know as it happens

The rumours so far have painted a picture of a premium smartphone that could give the iPhone X a serious run for its money. No, it's not another leak or rumor about the Galaxy S9, but a generous price drop in the price of Samsung's 2016 flagship - Galaxy S7 Edge.

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the biggest mobile event in the world, and often sees electronics giants like Samsung, Sony and Huawei launch their latest devices.

Samsung first teased a February 25 reveal for what most presumed to be the S9 in late January.

Despite some of its shortcomings inclusive of its exorbitant price, the upcoming Galaxy smartphones will still be one of the top-selling smartphones in no time. While only the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus got a dual camera, the smaller S9 also got an improvement. The units could sport a glass and metal body and near bezel-less screens and come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. According to Blass, the smartphones will cost Euro 841 for the Galaxy S9 and Euro 997 for the Galaxy S9+. The phone comes with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard: 'I prefer to play out wide'
Christensen has established himself as a regular in the Chelsea team this season. "Olivier is working very well with us". When you play against United, you have to know that anything can happen.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S9, S9+ could be powered by Samsung's own kitchens, the Exynos 9810 clocked at 1.9GHz in normal and 2.9GHz in turbo modes. Why Samsung wants to deny the technology to the likely more popular variant is unclear, but both will have some serious camera smarts if the teasers are to be believed. The SoC will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and it will have a native storage of 64 GB. Rest of the specifications and features also remain speculated. Though the former with its 4G capabilities could make a dent in the newly created smart feature phone segment, it's the latter that can have a greater impact on the fortunes of the company in 2018. ET News has the phone coming in at more expensive than the Galaxy S8 and S8+, which cost roughly $720 and $840, respectively, at launch a year ago. People are looking quite excited about these both handsets.

However, the biggest addition will be the inclusion of a new camera setup. Still, it shows off the phones, their eye-scanning features, fingerprint readers, hardware, cameras, new way to group apps for multi-tasking, water resistance, and an Enterprise Edition. Of course, given how extensively the two phones have leaked over the past two or three months, it's only right that we all enjoy one last massive collection of leaks before Samsung gets the show on the road.

For the camera, the device sports a 12-megapixel camera with F1.7 aperture.
