Fairfax County chase suspect hits self with own auto

A police officer in Virginia tried pulling over a suspected drunk driver and it ended with the suspect being hit by his own auto.

Dashboard video from the incident released Tuesday shows the 30-year-old man leave his auto on a residential street in Alexandria, Virginia, a Washington suburb.

Officers took him into custody after a brief chase on foot.

- Police officers in Fairfax, Va., tried to stop a vehicle Sunday only to have the driver attempt to flee.

In the video, you can see 30-year-old Isaac Bonsu jumping out of his vehicle and run off, and then immediately getting run over.

In the video, Bonsu appeared to get up and run from an approaching officer before he was eventually caught.

Officials said Bonsu was physically OK after the incident.

Police say he was charged with a third offense of driving while intoxicated and a "long list" of other things.

A man who allegedly tried to escape an officer in Redding, California last December was found hiding in a doghouse by a police K-9, authorities said.
