Madrid could risk missing out on De Gea again as United are reportedly prepared to make the Spaniard the highest paid goalkeeper in history.

The Real Madrid-linked goalkeeper has been often connected to a return to his native Spain, where he is the Number 1 goalkeeper for the national side.

But De Gea has been in outstanding form since and there are concerns in his party he has fallen way behind the top earners at Manchester United, despite being their best player this season.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the 27-year-old's representatives have been pushing for an improved deal since last year. "It's always like this".

It appears the Red Devils are playing a risky game, with Real still interested in landing the Spain number one as a replacement for Keylor Navas.

Many aviation jobs are still seen as being "just for men", according to British Airways ramp manager, Joanne Kershaw. Inspirational role models such as female pilots are key to influencing girls' career choices.

The goalkeeper was on the verge of signing for Real Madrid from Manchester United back in the summer of 2015 but the deal fell through at the final hour due to paperwork issues. He then signed a new contract at Old Trafford which included a €60million exit clause in Madrid's favour applicable exclusively in June 2016.

De Gea, however, has rejected their latest offer, according to El Confidencial, who claim that the stopper's relationship with Mourinho has played a key role in the former Atletico star's decision to stay put. "The option, it's obvious that we're not going to let the option disappear", said Mourinho recently.

"We are going to try".

"He barely has holidays". I don't negotiate players, I don't discuss numbers and contracts. Anyone of you would say the same: "David is to keep".
