Nintendo Direct: Mario Tennis Aces Launch Date, Gameplay Details Revealed

Following a leak which revealed some details about the upcoming Mario Tennis Aces, Nintendo has confirmed the June release date and offered a slew of information about the latest Mario-themed tennis game.

Nintendo has a special Nintendo Direct coming up later today, in which it was going to give a big amount of focus to its forthcoming sports title Mario Tennis Aces.

It'll feature more than 15 characters, and, of course, you'll be able to play it with multiple Switch controller configurations with four players.

While this is indeed a tennis game, it is not without that Mario flair.

There will also be a prelaunch online tournament, with a release date not yet announced. The online services including online play are free until the paid service launches in September 2018.

Whether this Direct contains nothing more exciting than Mario's short trousers options in Aces (which is to say "very exciting"), you won't want to miss a second of the action as these Direct announcements are becoming more and more famous for the quality of their previously unannounced reveals. This special ability allows you to dish out some damage to your opponent's racket; land three successful hits and you'll break it, resulting in them having to forfeit the match.
