Entry level Apple MacBook launch rumoured for June

A non-descriptive rumor about a MacBook Air refresh surfaced earlier this month from KGI claiming its to debut in Q2. Market intelligence reckons that the new MacBook will be priced in the same region as the existing MacBook Air or slightly higher.

We'd guess that it'll likely be a good deal more affordable than the cheapest current means to get an Apple laptop with a Retina screen, which is the vanilla 12-inch MacBook that starts at $1,299 (£1,249 or AU$1,899). Instead, MacBook Pro feature Air owners wanted for years is finally making its way to the notebook.

The new MacBook design will be based around a 13.3-inch display panel, made by LG, with the same resolution as the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.

Apple is preparing to release a new entry-level MacBook during the second quarter of this year.

Almost half of U.S. arms exports go to the Middle East
In 2017 it delivered one patrol ship, the USS Morgenthau, to Vietnam - the first major U.S. arms transfer to that country. On the other hand, India was the largest importer of arms during the 2013-'17 period.

Crucially however, the rumoured MacBook is set to have a price closer to that of the current generation of 13-inch MacBook Airs. The MacBook, meanwhile, has a 12-inch display with 2304 x 1440 resolution. It seems the company was looking to lower costs by seeking panels from a Chinese supplier, but issues resulted in the brand going to LG Display instead. As for the assembly, Quanta Computer obtains 70% of the orders and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) 30%. The report doesn't mention an actual launch date for the new laptop, but a WWDC 2018 launch certainly makes sense.

According to DigiTimes, Apple is expected to ship around four million units of this new 13-inch MacBook during the course of 2018.

As for the new iPads, Apple is said to upgrade the current 9.7-inch model likely with a new processor and price it around $300 or so.
