OJ Simpson Reportedly Confessed to Murders to Book Publisher

Regan begins the 2006 interview by asking about Simpson's book "If I Did It", which Simpson said he wrote primarily for financial reasons, because his National Football League pension wasn't enough to cover his expenses.

US Broadcaster Fox on Sunday will air a two-hour special, OJ Simpson: The Lost Confession, a repackaged version of a never-aired 2006 interview with publisher Judith Regan, in which he details a "hypothetical" explanation for the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994. "I took the knife from Charlie, and to be honest, after that, I don't remember, except I'm standing there and there's all kinda stuff around". "And I don't know why he went by Nicole's house, but he told me, 'You wouldn't believe what's going on over there.' And I remember thinking whatever's going on over there, it's gotta stop".

When asked if he's ever blacked out before, he said no.

Award-winning journalist Soledad O'Brien will front "O.J".

'She had heard rumors of me having affairs and that was true...she had had a fling herself'.

Simpson was acquitted of the murders in October 1995 but was later found liable in civil court.

20 students trapped in Kurangani forest fire
At least 20 students are trapped in Kurangani hill station of Tamil Nadu after forest fire started in the area, officials said. The group was trapped in forest fire on their way back on Sunday. "We sent a team of forty forest personnel for the rescue".

The interview with Regan, who had been overseeing the book's publication, was supposed to promote sales but the victims' families objected and it was mothballed. And beyond that, why would someone recount a "hypothetical" situation if they were 100% innocent?

It was screened with a panel of analysts to discuss what O.J. says and provide context. To give you an idea of how intense the backlash was after Fox announced the O.J. interview, Bill O'Reilly - yes, Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly - called the special "indefensible and a low point in American culture". "I had no conscious memory of doing that [leaving the glove], but obviously I must have done it because I left the glove there", he said. He says the people who should have unbridled anger are the Goldmans and the Browns, but Chris's outrage is right there.

Simpson says, hypothetically, he and Charlie drove to Nicole's with a cap, gloves and a knife under the seat and parked in the alley.

Moments later, "this guy kind of got into a karate thing, and I said, 'Well, you think you can kick my (expletive)?' " Simpson continues.

"I remember I grabbed the knife - I do remember that portion, taking the knife from Charlie". However, the book was written under the guise of fiction to protect Simpson's children. He was acquitted of the crimes, and later almost published a book called If I Did It, detailing how he would have attempted the murders.

"He was in a panic, and I'm telling him, 'Shut up, let's get out of here, ' " Simpson said. "Everything was covered in blood".
