URI falls to Davidson in A-10 title game

The Davidson Wildcats will take on the Rhode Island Rams in the A-10 Tournament Final on Sunday, start time at 12:00 PM ET, at Capital One Arena, Washington DC.

No fewer than a dozen of the 68 teams in the tournament have been named either in the FBI investigation or in media reports that allege coaches and others have directed payments and improper benefits to recruits and players - thus, breaking rules that go to the core of the amateur-sports code that defines and regulates both the NCAA and the "student-athletes" who make this billion-dollar business run. "You realize you've got to guard for 10 more seconds".

It is Davidson's first-ever A-10 Championship. Cyril Langevine made a free throw with 2:49 left for URI's last points. Top-seeded and No. 25 Rhode Island looked like a lock to get into the field of 68 no matter what happened Sunday.

The dynamic scorer in Curry, who made a decision to forgo his senior season at Davidson to enter the 2009 NBA Draft, was selected N0. High Point's pitching staff held the Chanticleers, who came in averaging almost nine runs per game, to just three hits after the first inning.

Trump rolling out big trade tariffs, sparing Canada, Mexico
Several Republicans, including Flake, have openly called the President's views on trade misinformed and misguided . Whether Trudeau likes it or not, Canada's prosperity is tied to our friends and allies in the USA and Mexico.

I just wonder if Arizona State's two best wins, over projected top seeds Xavier and Kansas, will hold up, as their struggles in in a below-average Pac-12 indicated serious inconsistency, not the excellence those victories displayed. The Wildcats avenged the loss to the Rams last week, and knocked off the Bonnies in Saturday's semifinals.

Shavar Newkirk led the Hawks with 18 points.

The Rams (25-6) roared back by crashing the glass, turning 19 offensive rebounds into 21 second-chance points, and by riding Russell's hot streak from beyond the arc. The following two play-in games will be played on Wednesday night. That coincided with Davidson's long stretch without a bucket. They were 4-of-18 from the field in the second half and 0-8 from 3-point range when Dowtin buried one with 5:37 left. The freshman chipped in more than half of URI's 26 points off the bench, with Jarvis Garrett also knocking down a pair of clutch 3-pointers during the deciding surge. Their dominant three-game run through the conference tournament cast aside any doubts. URI's Dowtin earned a spot on the all-tournament team alongside Aldridge, Grady, VCU's Justin Tillman, and St. Bonaventure's Matt Mobley.
