Utica Mom Charged After Facebook Video Shows Toddler Crawling on Road

The moment New Yorkers found a baby crawling on a busy road has been caught on camera.

Video posted to Facebook, and viewed more than 2.2 million times, showed the infant squirming on his stomach in the middle of Bleecker Street alone on Friday night.

The video shows the infant in the road and people getting out of their cars to help him. Toward the end you can hear a woman running up yelling "That's my baby?"

Coromato says the child's 27-year-old mother told investigators the baby was in the back seat of the auto when she left the area but "a short time later" looked back and didn't see her baby. When one of them returned from his vehicle with a blanket to keep the child warm, 27-year-old Ford ran towards the man, telling him that it was her baby.

Once the video was brought to the attention of authorities, an investigation was launched.

Ford and the unidentified relative returned to their original location where they recovered the child, Police said.

Church of Scientology to launch TV network
After months of speculation, the Church of Scientology has taken the wraps off its soon-to-launch, 24-hour TV network. A network was initially said to be launching on Spectrum, but the cable company denied such plans.

After hours of searching, police were finally able to track down Ford.

Police notified Child Protective Services and around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, four children were removed from the custody of Ford, Lt. Bryan Coromato of the Utica Police department said.

Ford said she went back to Pellettieri and Bleecker Street, where she found her child.

Ladrika Ford is due back in court on Friday, March 23.

The baby was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, but police have yet to release the condition of the baby.
