Chiefs set to sign Sammy Watkins

Watkins was drafted by the Bills with the fourth-overall pick in the 2014 National Football League draft, after playing collegiately at Clemson University. Still, he was quite productive over his first two years in the league with almost 1,000 yards in his rookie year and 1,047 yards in just 13 games in his sophomore campaign. The Bears reportedly had shown interest in Watkins as well, but ultimately agreed to a three-year, $42 million deal with Jaguars free agent Allen Robinson. That's unfortunate, and not the way they planned it, although the Rams likely will receive a compensatory third-round draft pick in 2019 for the loss of Watkins to free agency.

And he's a fantastic fit for the Chiefs, who now have a bunch of field stretchers on their versatile offense.

With Reid's complex blend of college and pro schemes, the Chiefs have unlimited upside offensively.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Sammy Watkins (12) scores a touchdown during the second half against the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Man United 2-1 Liverpool
UNITED fans were left shocked when Marcus Rashford was substituted, instead wishing it was Alexis Sanchez. His two goals against Juergen Klopp's side took his league tally to six.

Hitchens recorded 84 tackles and a forced fumble in 12 starts with the Dallas Cowboys last season after missing the first four games with a knee injury.

The Rams could look to the free-agent market or the draft for a Watkins replacement, given that they have nearly $40 million in salary-cap room this offseason, but there are other needs.

It's been an offseason of overhaul for the Chiefs.
