Joy Behar Apologizes for Mocking the Christian Faith

It's another thing when Jesus talks to you.

On "The View" on Tuesday, Behar said, "I think Vice President Pence is right".

After Vice President Mike Pence revealed "The View" co-host called him to apologize for making jokes about his faith in an interview on Monday night, he pressured her to do the same on her show.

"I just think it demonstrates how out-of-touch some in the mainstream media are with the faith and values of the American people", he said. "But I felt it was important that I defend the faith of tens of millions of Americans against that kind of slander".

"I'm still encouraging her to use the forum of that program or some other public forum to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended", he said.

On an episode of "The View" last month, Ms. Behar agreed with co-host Sunny Hostin's discomfort with "my vice president, um - speaking in tongues and having Jesus speak to him".

ABC News star Joy Behar apologized to mocking Vice President Mike Pence's Christian faith.

Behar said: "It's one thing to talk to Jesus. That's called 'mental illness, ' if I'm not correct".

After receiving backlash from conservative viewers however, Behar privately called Pence to apologize for her remarks.

"I give Joy Behar a lot of credit".

The Disney CEO also told the shareholders that he was happy to learn that Behar finally apologized because he said that he "takes exception" to her statement. While claiming he accepted her apology, he then passive aggressively suggested she needed to make it public. "I would like to apologize to him and his family in particular".

By the end of February, the MRC's campaign had led to at least 30,000 calls insisting that Behar apologize, as well as 6,000 calls to the daytime show's sponsors, according to Fox News.

A day after her initial joke, Behar attempted to clarify her comments on the air.

The View's Meghan McCain, an Evangelical Christian, did apologize to Pence on air.
