QB-needy teams have reached out to Drew Brees' agent

The Minnesota Vikings, who are rumored to be the favorites for Kirk Cousins, as well as the Denver Broncos are two teams that could offer Brees a strong enough roster to win a championship as well as pay him what he's worth as an unrestricted free agent. It was highly expeected Brees was returning to New Orleans, but they have yet to sign an extension.

The New Orleans Saints haven't yet locked up free-agent QB Drew Brees, but they're working behind the scenes to bring back Brees' most risky pass catcher from 2011-14 for a second go-around. But the 34-year-old right tackle got the grand send-off he deserved when he officially announced his retirement Monday at the team's practice facility. It is now March 9, five days until Brees's contract expires and the $18 million in dead money hits the Saints, and no deal has been agreed on. What if a deal simply isn't agreed upon? However, the fact that Brees remains unsigned and that no concrete reports of progress on negotiations have surfaced provides a glimmer of chance that he is wearing a different uniform in 2018. But if Brees suddenly becomes available, it would certainly behoove both Minnesota and Brees to seriously consider each other as a possible match. However a unsafe situation could be evolving if the Vikings make an offer that blows the Saints' stance out the water.

That road to the Super Bowl might seem a little too daunting for Brees, who would easily be the second best quarterback in the AFC behind Tom Brady if he signed with a team there.

The biggest name being thrown around by reporters and analysts is the Minnesota Vikings.

You guys be sure and tell Coach Rob I said that. "It took a while to get used to wearing a brace, but I felt fine from tip-off". Williams still was able to get two three-pointers, but he was being guarded heavily by the Virginia guards all game.

The Vikings aren't the only team that has checked with Brees and his agent regarding the future Hall of Famer's availability.

He said he will remain in New Orleans.

The situation is worth monitoring as the legal tampering period arrives.

Brees has said repeatedly that he wants to stay with the Saints. If the Saints and Brees haven't agreed on a deal by Monday afternoon, it could get wild.
