Southwest flight from Phoenix to Dallas makes emergency landing

Emergency crews responded after a Dallas-bound flight was diverted to the Albuquerque after smoke filled the aircraft's cabin. A crewmember can be heard shouting, "Move away from the aircraft now!"

"I hit the ground really hard and was just shell-shocked that I just had to jump off the wing of an airplane", he said.

The fire department said two people were brought to local hospitals but did not reveal the nature of their injuries.

Southwest Airlines flight 3562 was scheduled to fly from Phoenix to Dallas (Love Field) when the crew aboard noticed an unusual smell in the cabin.

A flight made an emergency landing at a USA airport, sending panicked passengers leaping from a wing on to the ground after crew members screamed at them to get away from the aircraft, passengers and officials have said.

Most passengers on the original flight made it to Dallas' Love Field Monday morning, CBS Dallas Fort-Worth reported.

Southwest officials added that the diverted aircraft will remain in Albuquerque until their mechanics inspect and clear its return to service. Five passengers "requested assessment by medical personnel", upon landing, the airlines said. International Business Times has reached out to Southwest Airlines for a comment regarding the incident.
