Broncos To Land Case Keenum

Broncos To Land Case Keenum

Previous year in Minnesota, Keenum started 14 games (11-3 record) and compiled a 98.3 passer rating.

The last big name quarterback remaining in free agency is Kirk Cousins who spent his first six National Football League seasons with the Washington Redskins.

Case Keenum #7 of the Minnesota Vikings reacts after a failed fourth down attempt in the fourth quarter of the game against the Detroit Lions on October 1, 2017 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Denver Broncos don't appear to be landing Kirk Cousins after all.

Tillerson's Exit Could Doom the Iran Nuclear Deal
European diplomats saw some chance Pompeo may have more influence over Trump than Tillerson, who antagonized the USA president by reportedly calling him a "moron" and who differed with Trump on Iran and other issues.

Keenum would have veterans Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders as his targets in Denver after Elway chose not to release either of the expensive wide receivers. "Obviously, we have to get better at that (quarterback) position". That's why they rushed him back against the Bears despite Keenum's good play last season.

"There were some things we should have done differently that we didn't do". The Broncos need a couple more moves at offensive line to give Keenum the kind of protection he had past year but no matter what, he's a massive upgrade from the last two seasons at QB for Denver. "But I feel like we can get right back in the thick of things pretty quickly".

The Broncos had inside knowledge into Keenum due to senior personnel advisor and former coach Gary Kubiak's relationship with the free-agent quarterback. Now, Elway hopes another free agent will replicate Manning.

After sitting out the playoffs in each of the last two years following their Super Bowl 50 triumph, the Broncos have apparently found their next signal-caller. Cousins was undoubtedly the top quarterback soon to become available, but with his spot atop the list of most teams came a price tag that could have ended up being too high for the Broncos' plans; while they have options, they also have plenty of needs and limited salary cap space, unlike some other quarterback-needy teams.
