Microsoft will open first Middle East data centers in 2019

It's no secret that Microsoft is going all-in on its cloud services as the company is announcing today that they are expanding once again with new regions in Switzerland and the UAE. Telekom serves as the trustee of data stored on the cloud to ensure data farmed out by companies complies with Germany data protection rules.

In terms of its expansion in Germany, Microsoft says that it will begin offering Azure, Office 365, and Dynamics 365 from new data center locations.

We're deepening our investment in the Middle East with these first cloud regions, which will be in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. However, it will also offer resilient cloud services to the reliable companies.

In Switzerland, data centers will be opened in Geneva and Zurich, and are a response to Microsoft's "engagement with financial institutions and regulators in Switzerland". Over the last three years, Microsoft has more than doubled the number of Azure regions available. "WANdisco Fusion enables continuous data replication for Microsoft Azure and HDInsight customers who also want to maintain on-premise consistency at scale".
