NCAA tournament preview: No. 16 LIU Brooklyn

NCAA tournament preview: No. 16 LIU Brooklyn

The win was Radford's first NCAA Tournament game in the history of the school.

Radford is in the tourney for the third time ever and the first since 2009.

Louisville 66, Northern Kentucky 58 - At Louisville, Ky.: Deng Adel had 20 points, including 16 during Louisville's hot-shooting second half that rallied the Cardinals past Northern Kentucky in a first-round NIT game.

One of the downfalls of earning a top seed (although deep down there's no REAL reason to complain) is the chance of having to face off against the victor of one of the play in games, which was exactly the case for Villanova.

How they falter: Considering LIU Brooklyn is quite possibly the worst team in the NCAA Tournament-it is No. 258 in Ken Pomeroy's efficiency ratings and No. 232 in RPI-it is almost impossible to imagine the Blackbirds doing anything but failing to make it out alive of their first game.

Head coach Mike Jones speaks with Donald Hicks during the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Tillerson's Exit Could Doom the Iran Nuclear Deal
European diplomats saw some chance Pompeo may have more influence over Trump than Tillerson, who antagonized the USA president by reportedly calling him a "moron" and who differed with Trump on Iran and other issues.

The Highlanders (23-12) reached the Big Dance after sweeping their way through the Big South Conference tournament and edging Liberty 55-52 in the championship game.

Radford led 30-28 at the end of a sloppy first half after leading by as many as nine.

Not only were the Highlanders coming off a 24-loss season in which they recorded only two Division I wins, the previous staff was also in the NCAA's crosshairs for providing impermissible benefits to recruits and then misleading investigators about it.

Devonnte Holland of the Radford Highlanders is fouled by Julius van Sauers of the Long Island Blackbirds in the first half of the First Four game in the NCAA Tournament at UD Arena on March 13, 2018 in Dayton, Ohio.

Jashaun Agosto scored 16 points and Raiquan Clark added 14 for LIU Brooklyn, which is winless in seven trips to the tournament.

Radford: At times the Highlanders looked like they didn't want it, either, but they played better in the second half on the back of Jones. Radford is led by Ed Polite Jr.
