Packers beat out Saints, Redskins for Muhammad Wilkerson

Under new leadership in the front office the Green Bay Packers are approaching free agency with more aggression than ever before. Wilkerson will join the defensive line with Mike Daniels, Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry and Montravius Adams. Green Bay is hoping he can turn that around while still being an asset in the run game, in which he was the 23rd best.

In good news for Wilkerson, he can be reinvigorated by playing for a victor, something CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported was important to him when discussing Wilkerson on our Pick Six Podcast Free Agency Preview (listen and subscribe to all episodes here).

Muhammad Wilkerson embarked on a four-city tour over the past several days but has made a decision, and it turns out the first stop on that two-time zone sojourn was telling.

Police investigate new suspicious package sent to MP at Westminster
It was sent to the office of Mohammad Yasin, who was elected as the Labour MP for Bedford at the 2017 snap general election. A third Muslim member of parliament from the party, Mohammad Yasin, said he also received a package on Monday.

A one-year commitment at $5 million is hardly a steep price to pay for a former Pro Bowler, regardless of the impact Wilkerson provides in 2018. Mike Pettine, the Packers' new defensive coordinator, was Wilkerson's defensive coordinator with NY when he was drafted in the first round in 2011. "#Packers should be getting a motivated player". Coach Mike McCarthy fired defensive coordinator Dom Capers in January after nine seasons.

After a 12-sack season with the Jets in 2015, Wilkerson signed an $86 million extension to stay in NY. He will also contribute to the pass rush - Wilkerson recorded double-digit sacks in two of his seven seasons with the Jets. In 2016, he was rewarded with a five-year, $86 million contract that included $37 million fully guaranteed at signing.
