The list of phones to receive the update include, Xiaomi Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 4A, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4, Mi 4i, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi 5, Mi MIX 2, and the Mi Max 2. There is one information out on the phone, The e-commerce giant Amazon has revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be exclusively on its platform. The upcoming Redmi 5 is being promoted by Xiaomi on social media as a "Compact Powerhouse", with features such as big display, long battery life, fast processor, slim design, and good selfie camera in focus.

To recall, the Redmi 5 was first launched in China in December past year alongside the Redmi 5 Plus.

Redmi 5 will be Xiaomi's successor to last year's Redmi 4, which was launched at a starting price of Rs 6,999 going up all the way to Rs 10,999. The Chinese version of Redmi 5 (3GB RAM/ 32GB storage) is priced at CNY 899 which is about Rs. 9,250 in India and much more powerful version of Redmi 5 (4GB RAM/ 64GB storage) is priced at CNY 1,099 which is about Rs. 11,300. The Redmi Note 5 lineup will be up for grabs on and Flipkart today at 12:00 PM. The company recently introduced the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in the Indian market, and the Redmi 5 is expected to be next. This will put the pricing for the upcoming smartphone under Rs. 9,999, but we just have to wait a few hours to find out the final pricing for the variants headed to India. Apart from this, the live stream is also likely to be available on the official Xiaomi India YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is also equipped with a 5.99-inch full HD+ display, however, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC. The phone gets its power from a 3,300 mAh battery. There is also a 5MP secondary camera equipped with selfie flash.
