Buffalo Bills, DT Star Lotulelei agree to five-year deal

Williams agreed to a one-year contract, the Bills announced Tuesday, a day before the NFL's free agency period opened.

Another former Panther will pack his bags and migrate to western NY as defensive tackle Star Lotulelei is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Bills when the new NFL league year begins Wednesday, ESPN.com reported.

Lotulelei, 28, is a five-year vet of the Carolina Panthers.

The signing will help the Bills along the defensive front which suffered greatly after they traded Marcell Dareus to the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Pikeville, Ky. police officer shot and killed
An eastern Kentucky town is reeling after one of its police officers was murdered in the line of duty Tuesday night. Hundreds of people, including police officers, firefighters and other first responders, came to pay their respects.

The ball appeared to clearly be in Williams' court as the Bills expressed a desire to re-sign the five-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle as recently as the National Football League combine earlier this month.

After playing in his first playoff game last season, veteran Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams will return for another season.

Bills coach Sean McDermott was Carolina's defensive coordinator for the first four seasons of Lotulelei's career. Like I said, I'm not anxious about it. "I think the fit is important and the fit is there, obviously".
