Tyrann Mathieu Released By Cardinals: Potential Landing Spots

So when the Arizona Cardinals announced Wednesday that the defensive back was being waived following a failed contract restructuring, members of the BirdGang let their feelings be known.

Tyrann Mathieu might be the most popular person on Twitter right now.

Unfortunately, good things in the National Football League must come to an end in some occasions, and after failing to figure out a way to re-do his current deal, Arizona decided on Wednesday to move on from their defensive superstar with a release.

Mathieu would also have a cap number of $14.1 million, which is more space than the Cardinals would like to devote to him. The 25-year-old was clearly prepared to roll the dice on earning a more lucrative contract on the open market.

Wahlberg donated his 1.5m dollar (£1.1m) pay cheque to Time's Up for the work to scrub the disgraced Kevin Spacey from the film. Speaking at this week's Mencap charity fashion show, in London , Olivia added: "I don't know who will play Prince Phillip yet".

Mathieu signed a $62.5 million deal in 2016. But they simply prefer to do so when it makes financial sense.

According to, the New York Giants, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans are all interested in the Honey Badger. Mathieu's 2015 knee injury derailed the best season of his career. There are few safeties as versatile as Mathieu as they are a rare bread, so the Bengals would need to make a move fast and be willing to spend some money.

Released safety Tyrann "The Honey Badger" Mathieu would be a ideal fit with the Patriots, who are in desperate need of an upgrade in the secondary.

Last season was the first that Mathieu played in all 16 games as he continued to recover mentally and physically from the past injuries. He had two interceptions last season. In two years, Mathieu had 133 tackles, 16 pass deflections, 11 forced fumbles, nine pass deflections, six sacks, four interceptions, two defensive touchdowns and added two punt return touchdowns. After a terrific start to his rookie year, he tore his left ACL in week 15 which ended his season prematurely.
